LEATHERHEADS (UNIVERSAL STUDIOS  PG-13  $29.98) GEORGE CLOONEY directs JOHN KRAZINSKI and RENE ZELLWEGGER in this homage to 1930’s screwball comedies.

While the overall effect is completely forgettable, the film isn’t bad…the cast is amiable and it’s a nice time at the movies. Better to rent than buy would be our estimation, though.

RUN, FATBOY, RUN (Warner Home Video  PG-13  $27.98) DAVID SCHWIMMER directs SIMON PEGG, THANDIE NEWTON and HANK AZARIA in a quirky, off-beat romantic comedy that just barely manages to work.

Again, a rental instead of a buy. Just too many unbelievable situations and not funny enough to make it rewatachable more than a couple of times.

SAMANTHA WHO?-THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (Buena Vista Home Entertainment  NR  $29.98) This sitcom is far smarter than it’s been given credit for. CHRISTINA APPLEGATE stars as a loathsome career woman who awakens froma car wrek with amnesia and is appalled at the woman she once was. Unfortunately, convincing her pals that she’s changed is a monumental task.

A completely funny and fresh show. Well worth a purchase and made even more so by JEAN SMART’S emmy win for her role as Samantha’s mom.

SEX AND THE CITY - THE MOVIE (New Line Home Video  R  $34.98) Well, if you are/were a fan of the show, then, we guess it’s a purchase.

But just know that it’s pretty bloated and at two-and-a-half-hours, it’s like sitting down to watch five episodes at one time. Frankly, we were pretty underwhelmed.

TWO AND A HALF MEN - THE COMPLETE FOURTH SEASON (Warner Home Video  NR  $44.98) Absolutely one of the funniest sitcoms of the last decade. CHARLIE SHEEN, JON CRYER, ANGUS T. JONES, HOLLAND TAYLOR and CONCHATA FERRELL epitomize ensemble comedy.

RENT IT OR BUY IT…just watch it.
