It’s not enough that TYLER PERRY has conquered certain areas of theater, film and television…now, he’s after a piece of the STAR TREK action.

When we spoke with PERRY recently, he confirmed that he would be in the film but warned that his role is a small one that he took only because he wanted to work with writer/director JJ ABRAMS.

We’ve since learned that he’ll play the head of The Starfleet Academy, the school that houses Starfleet cadets (but PERRY wasn’t spilling those beans when we spoke with him). Clip follows:
